Building in the historical centre of any city is difficult. When we are talking about Lisbon’s postcard view, we are talking about a dangerous project. We were asked to design a parking system for 150 vehicles while respecting the historical environment. The site is a public space with street character due to excess of objects and information. We proposed a new parking building with a public square rooftop with a privileged view to the city and the Tagus River. It duplicates existing public space, cleaning it and preparing a stage for the all neighbourhood activities, being it popular parties, sports events, or just the day by day life. The green façade recover the ancient tradition of flower and plant decoration of the balconies, while providing a sustainable machine to cool down the surrounding environment.
