SA12 Senior Circuits, Catalunya, Spain, 2003 call for ideas by invitation

In 2050, 51.1% of the population in South Europe will be older than 65 years. What kind of impact does that have in strategical planning of the territory? What can we do with all the unused life accumulated knowledge of these people? How can we use extra time they now have, with a more eco and social conscience way of life? We propose to use all they have, and the desire to live a peaceful countryside life to re-qualify the less populated regions, mixing uses and free time with technological and ecological research programs, creating the Xarxa Senior organisation. Joint programs such as Elderly Centres + Wildlife Shelters, or Spa Hotels + Ecological Research Centres are key attractors to create strategical flows in the non-urban spaces.
